I keep hearing people talk about an adjustable wrench and I’m not sure what they’re talking about. I have quite a few wrenches, but none are adjustable. I’m wondering if I’m missing out on something or not. I’ve searched online and nothing seems to come up. I do have a few Crescent wrenches that adjust, I’m just not sure if that is what they are or not. I’ve even called some friends and they have not a clue either. I did find a reference to them at http://tool-deals.com but I’m a little confused as too what they’re talking about.

The reason I’m so concerned about this is because I like to be prepared. I try and have all the tools a person will need in case of an emergency on hand and ready to go in case I need them. I practice emergency drills in my home as well as when I’m out on the town. I have a pretty good collection of tools both at home and in my car.

My Dad collected tools and I thought I was well versed in tools and their uses, but I have no idea what an adjustable wrench is or how it’s suppose to be used.
